Post-operative knee pain occurs after surgeries like total knee replacement (TKR). Many patients are unprepared for the severity and impact of this pain. By 2030, there will be 3.5 million TKR surgeries annually. Patients take medications including opioids for several weeks following surgery. These pain medications can have serious side effects.
