Osteoarthritis
Osteoarthritis (OA) is a painful, debilitating disease that can affect any moveable joint, often the knee or hip. The condition affects over 500 million people worldwide. Chronic pain is the hallmark symptom of OA. Patients with OA suffer from chronic pain for an average of 28 years from initial diagnosis. Currently, there are no effective pain-relieving treatments that improve patients’ quality of life.
